The panel of judges for the 2025 Almond Insurance Industry Awards has officially released the list of nominees across various categories at a press conference held in Lagos.
According to the organizers, the nomination process lasted one month and involved submissions from top executives of insurance and broking firms, as well as corporate and individual clients, based on predefined criteria. While some entries were disqualified for non-compliance, more than 914 nominations were recorded—more than double the 392 received in 2024.
Chairman of the Awards Panel of Judges, Ms. Soares, explained that the winners will be determined through a three-tier system: public voting will account for 10 percent, judges’ evaluations another 10 percent, while 80 percent will be drawn from verified data provided by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
To strengthen the integrity of the awards and curb duplicate voting, the organizers announced the introduction of a One-Time Password (OTP) verification system for this year’s voting process.
Nominees and members of the public are encouraged to cast their votes via the Awards website. Voting is free, but each company or individual is allowed only one vote per category. The voting window closes on September 5, 2025, ahead of final processing by the panel.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Nite, scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Stable Event Centre, Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos.
Instituted in 2018, the Almond Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ Nite celebrates the resilience and contributions of insurance professionals who continue to promote insurance products and services in Nigeria despite industry challenges. The event has grown to become the premier gathering for insurance practitioners, policymakers, entertainers, and the public.
This year’s ceremony will feature music, comedy, and dance performances, with veteran Nollywood actor Segun Arinze serving as host.
