
Dr. Emmanuel Otitolaiye, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Linkage Assurance Plc, has been inaugurated as the Pioneer Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) – Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) Chapter. The inaugural ceremony took place at Nigeria’s Insurers House in Victoria Island, Lagos, attended by the 60th President of ICAN, Davidson Alaribe, along with top accounting and insurance professionals from across the country.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Otitolaiye expressed his gratitude and commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism in accounting. “It is with great delight, sense of responsibility, and immense gratitude to the Almighty God that I accept my election and formal investiture as the Pioneer Chairman of the ICAN-NIA Chapter,” he stated.
Dr. Otitolaiye emphasized the importance of embracing innovation and staying ahead of emerging trends in business and finance. He pledged to foster a culture of lifelong learning and professional development, ensuring members have access to resources and support to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
His administration plans to focus on membership drive, training, and events through collaboration with organizations, regulatory bodies, and academia to strengthen the profession and advocate for members’ interests.
Davidson Alaribe, the Diamond President of ICAN, praised the establishment of the ICAN-NIA Chapter as a significant step for accountants to contribute to the development of the profession and the economy. He commended Dr. Otitolaiye’s hard work and urged younger accountants to emulate his dedication and success.
Dr. Otitolaiye’s extensive experience spans various sectors, including insurance, manufacturing, and consulting. Before joining Linkage Assurance Plc in 2018, he held key positions at Cornerstone Insurance Plc, Alliance & General Insurance PLC, FBN Life Assurance Limited, and others.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCIT), Dr. Otitolaiye holds multiple academic qualifications, including a PhD in Accounting from Babcock University. His professional journey is marked by numerous leadership roles and contributions to the field of accounting and finance in Nigeria.
As the Pioneer Chairman of the ICAN-NIA Chapter, Dr. Otitolaiye is set to lead with a vision for innovation, collaboration, and excellence in accounting practices.
