Segun Bankole, Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Managers of Nigeria Insurance Association (CAMCONIA), has called on insurance communications professionals across Nigeria to actively participate in the upcoming maiden edition of Insurance Week, slated for June 27 to July 4, 2025.
Speaking at CAMCONIA’s monthly meeting, Bankole emphasized that the week-long event will serve as a strategic platform to showcase the relevance and value of insurance in everyday life across Nigeria. With the theme “Insurance for All: Securing Nigeria’s Future,” the initiative is designed to bridge the perception gap and boost engagement in the insurance space.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). According to its President, Yetunde Ilori, Insurance Week aims to elevate public awareness, foster industry collaboration, and enhance professional development within the sector. “This event marks a critical turning point for the insurance industry in Nigeria,” she said, noting that the lineup of activities will leave a lasting impression on stakeholders and the wider public.
Eddie Efekoha, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and a former CIIN President, reiterated the effort and intentionality that has gone into the planning process. “This is not just another industry event—it is designed to drive real engagement and stimulate patronage in a sector that is ripe for expansion,” he stated.
Bankole concluded by urging Corporate Affairs and Communications leads across the industry to take ownership of the event and use it as an opportunity to showcase their brands, products, and contributions to national development. “Insurance Week offers a unique moment for insurers to present their offerings in a competitive yet collaborative space—positioning the industry for future growth both locally and regionally,” he said.
