One year after unveiling its new identity, Rex Insurance has announced that profitability will be its central focus for 2025. This was disclosed by Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, Managing Director/CEO of Rex Insurance, during a breakfast meeting with the leadership of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) held over the weekend in Lagos.
Mrs. Nwachukwu emphasized that after laying a solid foundation in the past year, the company is now entering a phase of growth focused on delivering value to its shareholders.
“Our theme for 2025 is ‘Building Returns, Synergy, and Growth.’ We’ve laid the groundwork, and now it’s time to focus intentionally on becoming a profitable business,” she said. “Our shareholders have stood by us during challenging times, and now is the time to reward their patience through meaningful returns. Cost and process optimization will be key drivers of this strategy.”
The event also served as a commemoration of one year since the company rebranded from its former identity, Royal Exchange, to Rex Insurance in July 2024. As part of the transformation, Rex opened a new head office in Victoria Island, Lagos, signaling a fresh chapter in its decades-long presence as one of Nigeria’s legacy insurance firms.
Reflecting on the past year, the company’s leadership outlined significant achievements in technology adoption, corporate culture renewal, and organizational restructuring—all aimed at repositioning Rex Insurance as a modern, customer-centric insurer.
“Since the rebrand, everything has evolved—our company, our people, and the environment we operate in. We are not the same organization we were a year ago,” Mrs. Nwachukwu added.
Rex Insurance continues to build momentum toward redefining its role in Nigeria’s insurance industry with a renewed commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and stakeholder value.
