The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has intensified its drive to promote insurance awareness and education among Nigerian youths through a strategic partnership with IT solutions provider, Sapphital Academy. The initiative, which also enjoys the support of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, aims to train one million young Nigerians in various aspects of the insurance profession.
As part of the project, CIIN and Sapphital Academy have launched a cutting-edge e-learning platform dedicated to providing comprehensive knowledge on insurance. The platform features 40 interactive modules covering diverse insurance topics and is facilitated by seasoned tutors from across the industry.
Speaking at the launch, CIIN President and Chairman of Council, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, FIIN, described the training platform as a historic milestone for the industry.
“This platform will serve as a long-lasting learning resource for future generations. It aligns with our mission to deepen insurance knowledge and strengthen the profession across Nigeria,” Ilori said, commending the Institute’s Secretariat for its dedication to the project.
The initiative also supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes economic growth through improved financial inclusion.
Registrar/CEO of the Institute, Abimbola Tiamiyu, praised the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, FIIN, for his commitment to advancing professionalism in the sector.
“We are thrilled to unveil this innovative platform as part of our EPIC Agenda, which focuses on enhancing professional development and creating networking opportunities for young Nigerians,” Tiamiyu stated.
The CIIN noted that the platform will not only raise awareness but also equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to explore rewarding careers in the insurance industry.
