The 10th edition of the annual conference of the Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE) will focus on the pivotal role of insurance and pension reforms in driving national economic growth.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the association announced the theme of the 2025 conference as: “Strengthening Pension and Insurance Framework for a Better Economy.” The highly anticipated event is scheduled to hold in September 2025 in Lagos.
The conference will be chaired by Mr. Sunday Thomas, former Commissioner for Insurance, while the Keynote Address will be delivered by Mr. Olatunde Amolegbe, Managing Director/CEO of Arthur Stevens Asset Management Limited and a past President of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. A seasoned finance expert, Mr. Amolegbe brings over 23 years of experience in investment banking, portfolio management, securities trading, and financial analysis.
Chairperson of NAIPE, Mrs. Nkechi Naeche-Esezobor, highlighted the significance of the conference theme in commemoration of the event’s 10th anniversary.
“This year’s theme is timely and relevant. It provides stakeholders with a platform to critically examine existing regulatory frameworks within the insurance and pension sectors and to propose actionable solutions to persistent implementation challenges,” she said.
The event will feature a lineup of distinguished guests and thought leaders, including:
- Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, Commissioner for Insurance
- Mrs. Omolara Oloworaran, Director General, National Pension Commission (PenCom)
- Mr. Ike Chioke, Chairman, Rex Insurance Limited
- Mr. Kunle Ahmed, Chairman, Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA)
- Mr. Christopher Bajowa, President, Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp)
Also expected are top financial sector executives, government agencies, regulators, and representatives from labour unions such as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nigeria Union of Pensioners, and the Trade Union Congress (TUC). Students, civil society organizations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders from across the public and private sectors are also expected to participate.
The conference aims to foster dialogue, deepen stakeholder collaboration, and promote strategic policies that will enhance the effectiveness of Nigeria’s insurance and pension systems as levers for sustainable economic development.
