The week-long celebration of Insurance Week is expected to significantly enhance insurance penetration in Nigeria, following a strong push for public awareness, according to Segun Bankole, Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Managers Committee of the Nigerian Insurance Association (CAMCONIA).
Bankole, who mobilized participation from industry players through their respective companies, described the initiative as a strategic platform for promoting the value and importance of insurance among Nigerians.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Bankole highlighted that the event—organized by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN)—was themed “Insurance for All: Securing Nigeria’s Future.” He explained that it aimed to foster greater public engagement, encourage collaboration across the industry, and drive insurance literacy.
“The Insurance Week gave companies in the Nigerian insurance sector an opportunity to showcase their products, services, and the value they bring to customers nationwide,” he said.
He added that insurers presented their brands in innovative, competitive, and cooperative ways, contributing to the overall growth and development of the industry—both locally and potentially at the international level.
