The Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, will lead discussions at the Insurance Session of the 5th ChinetAviacargo Conference, scheduled for September 16, 2025, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
This year’s conference, themed “How e-Commerce is Shaping the Future of Logistics in Africa,” will convene key players from aviation, insurance, logistics, and trade to explore emerging opportunities in the continent’s fast-evolving cargo ecosystem.
Omosehin is expected to deliver a keynote on “Emerging Synergy Between Insurance and Aviation,” focusing on how insurance can strengthen growth, resilience, and sustainability within Nigeria’s aviation and cargo sectors.
The Insurance Session—an established highlight of Chinet since its inception—will also feature contributions from prominent industry leaders. Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, Chairman of Boff & Company Insurance Brokers Ltd, will moderate the panel, while Mrs. Bimbo Onakomaiya, Managing Director of Peakthrust Insurance Brokers Ltd and President of the Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA), and Mr. Kunle Ahmed, Chairman of the Nigerian Insurance Association, will serve as co-panelists.
Organisers stressed the importance of the conversation, noting that aviation and insurance remain closely intertwined: aviation relies heavily on insurance to mitigate risks and ensure safe operations, while insurance leverages aviation’s expansion to diversify portfolios and contribute to broader economic growth.
