Managing Director of Rex Insurance, Ebelechukwu B. Nwachukwu, has been recognised as one of Nigeria’s outstanding corporate leaders at the 2025 BusinessDay Top 25 CEOs Awards held over the weekend in Lagos.
The annual event brought together influential executives and industry leaders to celebrate CEOs who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and industry impact.
Nwachukwu was honoured for steering Rex Insurance through a period of transformation and growth. Since assuming office in January 2023, she has repositioned the company as a digital-first, customer-centric insurer, while championing innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
“This recognition is a true reflection of the dedication and hard work of the entire Rex Insurance team,” Nwachukwu said. “Together, we have built a strong foundation for continued innovation and success, and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished.”
Under her leadership, the company has achieved notable milestones including market expansion, the launch of climate-based agricultural insurance products, new inclusive retail offerings, and improved claims management. She also spearheaded the commissioning of a state-of-the-art head office in Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of a broader corporate rebranding.
In 2025, she introduced the theme “Building Synergy and Growth” to align stakeholders toward sustainable profitability and long-term shareholder value. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Nwachukwu continues to advocate digital transformation, customer satisfaction, and innovative solutions tailored to Nigeria’s evolving market.
The award ceremony was attended by key members of Rex Insurance’s leadership team, including Sunny Uwagboi (Executive Director, Business Development), Shiela Ezeuko (General Counsel/Company Secretary), Abayomi Kayode (Chief Financial Officer), Emmanuel Ndoh (Head, Brands & Events), and Wilson Okoh-Esene (Head, Corporate Communications & Customer Experience). Their presence underscored the collaborative effort behind the company’s achievements.
