The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has inaugurated a Strategic Inter-Agency Coordination Committee, marking a key step in its ongoing efforts to strengthen stakeholder collaboration and reposition the Fund for greater efficiency.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Barrister Oluwaseun Mayomi Faleye, the Executive Director of Administration, Barrister Samaila Abdu, unveiled the committee at the Fund’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
Abdu explained that the committee’s core mandate is to advance the Managing Director’s transformative agenda by ensuring structured follow-ups on the Fund’s various stakeholder consultations and inter-agency engagements.
“This committee will serve as a bridge between our engagements and tangible outcomes,” Abdu said. “It will play a central role in driving the bold and visionary goals set by our Managing Director upon assumption of office.”
He added that the committee’s work will be crucial to expanding the Fund’s reach, strengthening partnerships, and promoting the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS) — one of NSITF’s flagship programmes.
Abdu noted that members were chosen for their professional excellence, integrity, and dedication to service, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver on the assignment.
The committee, chaired by Mr. Abdul-Lateef Musa, General Manager, Compliance, comprises eight other members: Dr. Dayo Alao (Technical Adviser to the MD/CE), Frances Nwachukwu, Olakunle Olasaru, Dr. Augusta Ehigalua, Dr. Emmanuel Ulayi, Dorothy Igbole, Blessing Ogechi, and Baba Hussain Bala.
Their terms of reference include:
- Documenting outcomes and decisions from all inter-agency engagements.
- Developing actionable plans with clear timelines and responsibilities.
- Liaising with partner organizations to maintain momentum and track progress.
- Monitoring implementation and reporting challenges to the Executive Management.
- Providing regular progress updates to the Managing Director.
- Evaluating the impact of engagements and recommending areas for improvement.
The newly inaugurated committee will operate as a standing body, ensuring that the NSITF’s stakeholder initiatives translate into measurable impact and long-term institutional growth.
