Leadway Assurance is set to showcase innovative climate risk solutions at the Africa Climate Insurance Symposium 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany, as insurers intensify efforts to strengthen resilience across the continent.
At the symposium, themed “How Africa’s Insurers are Reshaping Climate Resilience from the Ground Up,” Leadway will join industry leaders to explore scalable responses to climate risks, particularly in agriculture.
The company will contribute to discussions on scaling agricultural index insurance and present its Weather Guard solution, which leverages weather data and satellite technology to trigger automatic payouts for farmers affected by adverse conditions.
According to Leadway’s Global Head of Agricultural Risk Solutions, Ayoola Paul Fatona, the model eliminates lengthy claims assessments and ensures faster financial support, helping farmers adapt to climate shocks.
Leadway revealed that its solutions have supported over three million Nigerian farmers, delivering more than ₦15 billion in payouts over five years—boosting livelihoods, food security, and economic stability.
The symposium brings together global stakeholders, including World Bank and Africa Reinsurance Corporation, to drive collaboration and expand climate risk financing across Africa.
Leadway said its participation underscores the growing role of insurance as a critical tool for climate adaptation and sustainable development on the continent.
