The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has launched a dedicated podcast studio as part of efforts to expand public awareness of insurance and strengthen engagement with stakeholders through digital media.
The new facility, unveiled on Tuesday, is expected to serve as a platform for educating Nigerians about insurance products, industry developments and regulatory issues while promoting greater transparency and trust in the sector.
Speaking during the unveiling, NIA Chairman Kunle Ahmed described the initiative as a significant step in the association’s communication strategy, saying it would transform how the insurance industry tells its story and connects with the public.
According to Ahmed, the insurance sector has made substantial contributions to Nigeria’s economy through claims settlement, risk management and financial protection, but its achievements have not always received adequate public attention.
He explained that the podcast studio would provide a space for conversations aimed at simplifying insurance concepts and making them more accessible to individuals and businesses.
The platform, he said, will feature discussions with industry professionals on emerging trends, innovations, policy developments and other issues affecting the insurance landscape.
Ahmed added that member companies, regulators and other stakeholders would also have the opportunity to use the studio to share insights, promote collaboration and communicate directly with the public.
He stressed that the facility was designed as a shared industry resource rather than an initiative exclusive to the association, noting that it would be open to insurers, regulatory bodies, financial institutions and strategic partners.
The NIA chairman expressed optimism that the production of high-quality audio and video content would help dispel misconceptions about insurance, encourage greater public confidence and support efforts to increase insurance penetration across the country.
He also commended the NIA Secretariat and the project team for successfully delivering the studio, describing the initiative as a long-term investment that would strengthen communication and benefit the entire insurance industry.
