Organisers of Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), a platform focused on the intersection of insurance and technology, have announced the postponement of the fifth edition of the conference, IMT 5.0, which is scheduled to take place in Lagos in November.
The organisers said the decision was made to preserve the quality and experience associated with the annual conference rather than proceed with the original timeline at the risk of compromising established standards.
Convener of Insurance Meets Tech, Odion Aleobua, said the postponement was a deliberate decision aimed at protecting the credibility and integrity the platform has built over the past five years.
According to him, IMT has become more than an annual gathering, with discussions, partnerships and business relationships formed at the event continuing to influence the insurance industry beyond the conference itself.
“We do not take this lightly,” Aleobua said, stressing that the organisers would rather adjust the schedule than lower the standards expected by participants and stakeholders.
He said the additional weeks would give the organising team more time to coordinate the various aspects of the event and ensure that IMT 5.0 delivers the level of experience stakeholders have come to expect.
The conference brings together stakeholders from the insurance and technology sectors to examine emerging opportunities, foster collaboration and explore how technological innovation can transform the insurance industry.
The organisers said the rescheduled date reflects their commitment to maintaining the platform’s standards as IMT enters its fifth year.
