AIICO Insurance Plc has expanded its annual Annuity Forum, a customer engagement platform designed to deepen relationships with retirees, beyond Lagos to other regions of Nigeria. The Lagos edition, held recently, will be followed by a session in Port Harcourt for annuity customers in the South-South.
The event combined leisure and business, offering health checks, entertainment, and interactive discussions on improving customer experience. Retirees praised AIICO for its consistency in annuity payments and commitment to their welfare.
Among the participants was Oba Ogungbayi Akanni Wasiu, the Onitetiku & Oluowode of Ota, Ogun State, who retired 15 years ago. He commended the insurer for prompt monthly payments, describing his experience as “regret-free.” Similarly, Judith Chibuogwu, a retired nursing director, said she was impressed with AIICO’s reliability and had begun encouraging colleagues to sign up.
Welcoming annuitants, AIICO’s MD/CEO Babatunde Fajemirokun described the forum as a celebration of resilience and trust. He reassured customers that annuity funds are professionally managed by pension custodians under strict regulation, dispelling concerns about alleged mismanagement.
Echoing this, Executive Director for Retail Business, Gbenga Ilori, noted that AIICO serves over 25,000 annuitants nationwide, disbursing more than N1.7 billion monthly. He stressed that the forum allows the company to listen, respond, and stay connected to retirees who have entrusted their pensions to AIICO.
With its growing annuitant base, AIICO says it will continue expanding the forum to other regions while strengthening its reputation as a leading player in Nigeria’s annuity market.
