AIICO Insurance Plc has expanded its annual Annuity Forum beyond Lagos for the first time, with Port Harcourt scheduled as the next stop in a move to deepen engagement with retirees nationwide.
The Lagos edition, held this week, featured health checks, interactive sessions and customer feedback. Retirees applauded AIICO’s consistency in payments, with some sharing personal experiences.
“I retired 15 years ago and started my annuity immediately. I have no regrets because AIICO has paid me every month without fail,” said Oba Ogungbayi Wasiu, a retired education officer. Another annuitant, former Lagos University Teaching Hospital Director of Nursing, Mrs. Judith Chibuogwu, described her experience as “wonderful” and said she had already begun recommending AIICO to colleagues still in service.
AIICO’s Managing Director, Babatunde Fajemirokun, reassured customers that their funds remain secure under pension custodianship and strict regulatory guidelines, dismissing online claims of mismanagement.
“You are not just clients; you are family,” Fajemirokun told attendees.
Executive Director of Retail Business, Gbenga Ilori, added that the firm now serves more than 25,000 annuitants nationwide and is expanding the forum to build stronger connections with customers outside Lagos.
