The insurer announced on June 12 that it will honor pre-trip cancellation claims for eligible policyholders—even though the airline’s closure isn’t typically covered under standard policy terms.
Who Qualifies?
This coverage applies to:
Single-trip and annual travel insurance policies purchased before 8:00 AM on June 11, 2025.
Customers who bought Income Travel Insurance with pre-trip cancellation coverage.
Even though Jetstar Asia’s shutdown isn’t listed under insured cancellation events, Income Insurance is making an exception to support travelers impacted by the airline’s winding down.
Jetstar Asia previously announced it will gradually reduce operations, leading up to a full halt on July 31, 2025.
