The President of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria, Ikechukwu Udobi, has called for enhanced training and continuous capacity building for loss adjusters in Nigeria, particularly in specialised sectors such as energy, oil and gas, and complex risk management.
Udobi said strengthening professional expertise in these critical areas is essential to aligning Nigerian loss adjusters with international standards and improving industry performance.
He also advocated increased collaboration between local practitioners and their foreign counterparts, noting that such partnerships would promote knowledge transfer and support the development of the profession.
The ILAN president made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the institute’s leadership to the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, at the headquarters of the National Insurance Commission in Abuja.
Udobi commended the commission for the recent revision of the Loss Adjusters’ Scale of Fees, describing it as a major milestone that could help revitalise the profession after years of stagnation.
In his response, Omosehin welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit, reaffirming the commission’s commitment to supporting reforms and professional development within the insurance sector.
