Investors in the Nigerian equities market recorded a gain of ₦16 billion at the close of trading on Tuesday, as the market recovered from previous sessions’ losses.
The rebound was driven by renewed investor interest in key stocks, including Skye Shelter Fund Plc, Royal Exchange Insurance Plc, and International Energy Insurance Plc, which posted strong price gains during the day’s trading.
The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) rose slightly to 147,742.22 points, up from 147,710.96 points recorded on Monday. Similarly, the equity market capitalisation increased to ₦93.77 trillion, compared to ₦93.76 trillion in the previous session.
Market sentiment remained positive, with 33 gainers, 28 losers, and 85 unchanged equities across 23,017 deals.
A total of 389.11 million shares, valued at ₦12.4 billion, were traded on the exchange.
Among the top performers, Skye Shelter Fund Plc gained 9.88% to close at ₦418.75 per share, up from ₦381.10. Royal Exchange Insurance Plc appreciated by 7.37% to ₦2.33, while International Energy Insurance Plc advanced 6.05% to ₦2.98 per share.
The modest recovery reflects improved buying interest across select sectors, even as investors remain cautious amid mixed market signals.
