LG Electronics has partnered with AXA Mansard Health to offer free malaria insurance to Nigerians, particularly its customers, as part of efforts to combat the country’s high malaria burden.
The initiative, launched under LG’s “Life’s Good Care” Campaign, aims to ease the financial strain of malaria treatment by providing insurance coverage, improving access to healthcare, and promoting awareness about prevention.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria accounted for 26 percent of global malaria cases in 2023—the highest in the world—highlighting the urgency of sustained interventions.
Speaking on the partnership, Hyoung Sub Ji, Managing Director of LG Electronics West Africa, said the company’s commitment extends beyond technology to improving lives. “Our partnership with AXA Mansard allows us to deliver meaningful healthcare protection to our customers and communities,” he said.
Similarly, Jumoke Odunlami, Chief Distribution Officer and Director at AXA Mansard Health, stressed the importance of accessible healthcare solutions. “Malaria remains one of the most preventable yet persistent diseases. Partnering with LG enables us to expand the reach of our malaria insurance plans and protect more Nigerian families,” she noted.
According to a joint statement from both firms, LG customers will gain access to AXA Mansard Health’s Standard, Classic, and Premium Malaria-care plans, which include telemedicine services, free delivery of prescribed medications in Lagos, and nationwide hospital coverage under the Premium Plan.
The collaboration reinforces LG’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its mission to extend care beyond technology—delivering real health and wellness benefits to Nigerian households.
