The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) have praised the Insurance Meets Tech (IMT) Conference for its pivotal role in accelerating digital transformation and innovation within Nigeria’s insurance industry.
Speaking at the event, CIIN President, Yetunde Ilori, lauded the consistent quality of discussions and collaborative showcases that have made IMT a leading force in promoting a technology-driven approach to insurance reform.
“The work being done by Insurance Meets Tech is revolutionizing the way our industry operates—breaking away from traditional norms and fostering innovation, particularly among young, tech-savvy Nigerians,” Ilori said.
She emphasized that initiatives like IMT are helping the sector gain wider public acceptance, enhancing relevance, and ensuring a sustainable impact on the economy. “The future of our profession depends on how well we embed digital thinking and tools into every part of our operations,” she added.
Olusegun Omosehin, Commissioner for Insurance, also commended IMT’s transformative impact and the sustained commitment of its convener, Odion Aleobua.
“Digital innovation is not optional—it is a necessity for growth and relevance in today’s Nigeria. Insurance Meets Tech is more than a discussion platform; it is a catalyst for change, modernizing how we connect with the insuring public,” Omosehin stated.
He urged stakeholders to embrace digital tools and build the trust needed to deepen insurance penetration across all segments of society.
In response, Odion Aleobua, Founder and Convener of IMT, expressed gratitude for the recognition by the industry’s top leaders.
“We are truly honored by the endorsement from Commissioner Omosehin and CIIN President Ilori. Their support reinforces our shared mission to digitally transform Nigeria’s insurance ecosystem,” he said.
Aleobua noted that the success of IMT reflects the power of collaboration between regulators, industry professionals, and technology innovators. “Together, we are building an inclusive, digital-first insurance sector that can effectively serve every Nigerian,” he concluded.
