Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), West Africa’s premier platform for exploring the intersection of insurance, technology, and policy, has announced the participation of Mr. Kunle Ahmed, Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), as Guest of Honour at its upcoming IMT 4.0 Conference. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Lagos.
Ahmed, who also serves as Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Insurance, will join an impressive lineup of industry leaders already confirmed for the conference.
Among them are Prince Babatunde Oguntade, President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB); Mrs. Yetunde Olubunmi Ilori, President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN); Mrs. Abimbola Onakomaiya, President of the Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA); and Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
Convener of IMT and CEO of Modion Communications, Odion Aleobua, welcomed Ahmed’s confirmation, describing it as a major boost for the conference.
“Having the Chairman of the NIA on board is a monumental buildup to this event,” Aleobua said. “Kunle Ahmed is not only a respected leader in the industry, spearheading the premier umbrella body, but also a passionate advocate for digitalisation and tech-led innovations within Nigeria’s insurance sector.”
Aleobua added that Ahmed’s participation is particularly timely, coming on the heels of the enactment of the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025 and the launch of the NIA Innovation Lab.
“His insights and perspectives will undoubtedly enrich the discussions at the conference,” he noted.
The IMT 4.0 Conference is expected to bring together regulators, operators, and innovators to shape strategies for a technology-driven insurance ecosystem in Nigeria and West Africa.
