The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has elected Dr. Ebose Augustine Osegha, Managing Director/CEO of Anchor Insurance Company Limited, as its new Honorary Assistant Treasurer. The NIA serves as the umbrella body for all insurance and reinsurance companies operating in Nigeria.
Dr. Ebose was elected during the association’s recent elections, which concluded on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Prior to his new role, he was an active member of the NIA Governing Council.
His appointment was formally announced and ratified during the NIA’s 54th Annual General Meeting held in Lagos on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Reacting to his election, Dr. Ebose expressed appreciation and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the goals of the association and the insurance industry at large.
“I am happy to be elected the Honorary Assistant Treasurer of our great Association, NIA. I will continue to contribute my quota to the growth of the Association and the industry generally,” he said.
Dr. Ebose brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has been the MD/CEO of Anchor Insurance since February 2018, after previously serving as Executive Director, Business Development and Marketing. Before joining Anchor in January 2017, he held the position of General Manager/Divisional Head, Public Sector, Brokers Marketing, and Emerging Markets at Standard Alliance Insurance Plc.
An accomplished academic and professional, Dr. Ebose holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Delta State University, Abraka; an MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti; a Master’s in Management Research (M.Res.) from the University of Liverpool, UK; and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management from Babcock University, Ogun State.
He is also a member of the NIA Governing Council, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators, and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), the Institute of Directors, Ikoyi Club 1938, and NAICOM’s Publicity and Communications Sub-Committee, among others.
