The Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Oluwaseun Faleye, has emphasized the need for data-driven solutions to enhance workplace safety and health across the country.
Speaking at the ongoing training on Enhanced Occupational Safety and Health, held at the Kakanfo Inn and Conference Centre in Ibadan, Faleye highlighted the importance of proactive strategies in response to the evolving nature of workplace environments.
A statement issued by NSITF’s Deputy General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Alex Mede, quoted Faleye as saying that safety in modern workplaces goes beyond compliance and requires forward-thinking measures.
“This program introduces automated occupational safety and health strategies, tools, and systems that will not only boost productivity but also save lives,” Faleye stated.
He further described the training as a significant step toward building safer, smarter, and more sustainable work environments in Nigeria.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to capacity building, digital transformation, and the integration of global best practices into our workforce culture,” he added.
Faleye also noted that the NSITF has already digitized its operations and the current training aims to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the agency’s modernization efforts.
Represented by the General Manager of the Fund’s Health, Safety and Environment Department, Mr. Tony Eke, Faleye reiterated NSITF’s core mission: “to protect, preserve, and promote the dignity and well-being of every Nigerian worker.”
The four-day training is organized in collaboration with Beam Box Projects and Consulting Services Limited. It is part of a three-part capacity-building program funded by NSITF.
The other two training modules include:
- “Driving Workplace Safety from a Compliant to a Profit-Driven Perspective”, facilitated by Surez Global Resources Nigeria Limited.
- “Technology and Safeware Skills: Excel Skills for Data Analytics and Visualization”, delivered by Sky Quest Concept Limited.
