SanlamAllianz, the newly launched joint venture between global insurance giants Sanlam and Allianz in Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to the development of the Nigerian insurance sector by sponsoring the first edition of the 2025 NCRIB Empowerment Series.
Held at the Insurance Brokers House in Lagos, the event marked a significant milestone for the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) as it kicked off its flagship capacity-building initiative for the year. The Empowerment Series is designed to enhance professional skills, promote innovation, and drive sustainable growth across the insurance value chain.
The forum brought together a wide spectrum of stakeholders — including top brokers, industry experts, thought leaders, and seasoned professionals — for a robust exchange of ideas and insights.
Delivering remarks at the event, Mr. Tunde Mimiko, Managing Director and CEO of SanlamAllianz Life Insurance Nigeria, expressed pride in supporting the initiative.
“We are elated to sponsor this important gathering that promotes knowledge-sharing and professional development. At SanlamAllianz, we are deeply committed to empowering the insurance industry and look forward to strengthening our partnership with NCRIB,” Mimiko stated.
The event featured a focused session on Insurance Pitching Techniques, aimed at improving broker-client engagement skills, alongside a vital health awareness session on Hepatitis — underlining the holistic approach of the series to personal and professional well-being.
A key highlight of the gathering was the official unveiling of the SanlamAllianz brand to the NCRIB community. In his presentation, Mr. Yomi Onifade, MD/CEO of SanlamAllianz General Insurance, described the brand as a bold and inclusive force in Africa’s financial landscape.
“Today, we introduce to you a new champion in insurance and non-banking financial services — one that caters to everyone: individuals, corporate entities, SMEs, government institutions, major projects, and even informal sector workers,” Onifade declared.
President of NCRIB, Prince Babatunde Oguntade, extended appreciation to SanlamAllianz for its strategic support and lauded the event’s success, noting its significance as the inaugural edition of the 2025 series.
In alignment with the recently launched Nigerian Insurance Awareness Week, SanlamAllianz is concurrently leading a 12-city nationwide tour aimed at promoting insurance education and brand visibility among retail customers.
So far, the brand activation has reached Akure, Ibadan, and Abuja, with upcoming stops planned for Port Harcourt, Jos, Enugu, Owerri, Kano, Uyo, Warri, Onitsha, and more.
SanlamAllianz offers a comprehensive suite of life and general insurance solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of the Nigerian market. Backed by the global strength of its parent brands, the company aims to redefine customer experience and expand financial protection across Nigeria.
