Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to education and industry development with the launch of the 13th edition of its Annual Essay Competition, having invested over ₦40 million in the initiative since its inception.
The competition, established in 2011, has evolved into a respected platform for promoting academic excellence, critical thinking, and awareness of insurance’s role in economic growth across Nigeria.
This year’s edition features two categories. The internal segment encourages employees to reflect on corporate culture under the theme “Re-enacting CHH Corporate Culture and Brand Identity: Why It Really Matters.” The external category targets students in insurance-related fields, focusing on how economic hardship affects disposable income and insurance demand.
Speaking at the pre-award event, Eddie Efekoha, Group CEO, emphasized the competition’s role in shaping industry ideas, urging participants to deliver practical solutions that can improve insurance adoption and financial security in Nigeria.
Also, Mary Adeyanju, Managing Director of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Limited, highlighted the initiative as a strategic effort to bridge the gap between academia and the insurance industry while nurturing future professionals.
Top winners will receive cash prizes of ₦1 million, ₦750,000, and ₦500,000 respectively, with the award ceremony scheduled for April 13, 2026. The event will also recognize outstanding participants from the previous edition.
Open to 300-level and HND1 students studying Insurance or Actuarial Science, the competition requires entries to be submitted through institutional departments before the April 11 deadline.
Listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group, Consolidated Hallmark Holdings continues to expand its footprint across insurance, life assurance, healthcare, and financial services through its subsidiaries, reinforcing its role as a key player in Nigeria’s financial sector.
