The Association of Nigerian Young Farmers has commended the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), Alhaji Yazid Danfulani, for what it described as his visionary and transformative leadership since assuming office.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by its Chairman, Ahmed Muhammad Ibrahim, the association expressed confidence that NAIC, under Danfulani’s stewardship, would record unprecedented achievements and play a pivotal role in advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The group lauded Danfulani’s appointment as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to purposeful leadership, accountability, and sustainable national development.
“Alhaji Yazid came fully prepared for the enormous task of steering NAIC to greater heights. For him, this is not merely an appointment but a call to duty and national service,” Ibrahim stated.
A Proven Technocrat
The association highlighted Danfulani’s impressive credentials, noting that he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.
It also pointed to his rich experience in both the public and private sectors, including his tenure as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State and his earlier role at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Describing him as “a square peg in a square hole,” the group said Danfulani’s strategic insight and managerial expertise were already repositioning NAIC for greater efficiency, innovation, and nationwide impact.
Driving Innovation and Accountability
According to the statement, the NAIC chief—popularly known as the Turakin Zamfara—is spearheading efforts to make the corporation more responsive to the needs of farmers across the country.
Under his leadership, NAIC is expected to deepen its alignment with the federal government’s agricultural development goals through transparency, teamwork, innovation, and measurable results in the agricultural insurance sector.
The association expressed optimism that with Danfulani at the helm, NAIC would strengthen farmers’ resilience against risks, expand insurance penetration in rural communities, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s quest for food security and economic growth.
