A civil society group, Volunteer Media Advocacy for Accountable Leadership, has praised the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Oluwaseun Falaye, for his focus on staff welfare and ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the organisation.
In a statement issued by its Country Director of Mobilisation, Joseph Ezejiegu, the group described Falaye’s leadership as both visionary and impactful. It noted that his emphasis on employee well-being and institutional efficiency has set a new benchmark within the agency.
The organisation specifically highlighted the commissioning of an Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS) Help Desk at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. It described the development as a major step toward improving access to compensation services for federal civil servants.
Ezejiegu explained that the initiative reflects the NSITF leadership’s commitment to bringing its services closer to workers. He added that it would ensure quicker responses to workplace injury claims while also increasing awareness of employees’ rights under the ECS framework.
According to the statement, Falaye has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing staff welfare and strengthening the agency’s ability to fulfil its mandate. The establishment of the ECS Help Desk, it said, underscores a governance approach that prioritises people.
The group further observed that under Falaye’s leadership, the NSITF has made notable progress in promoting transparency, improving service delivery, and engaging stakeholders—key factors in rebuilding public trust in the institution.
It added that the renewed focus on staff welfare has boosted employee morale, leading to greater productivity and more efficient service delivery.
The organisation called on other public sector leaders to follow Falaye’s example by prioritising workers’ welfare and implementing meaningful institutional reforms.
It also reaffirmed its support for initiatives that advance accountability, efficiency, and the protection of workers’ rights, expressing confidence that the NSITF will continue to achieve sustainable growth under its current leadership.
