Heirs Holdings has opened applications for the second cohort of its graduate trainee programme, giving young Nigerian professionals a chance to launch their careers across some of the country’s major business sectors.
The programme, run through the group’s Heirs Academy, is targeted at ambitious early-career professionals seeking structured training and hands-on experience in a diversified corporate environment.
The opportunity spans businesses and industries including energy, insurance, financial services, power and real estate, potentially giving successful applicants exposure to multiple areas of the economy.
Who can apply?
According to Heirs Holdings, applicants must be 27 years old or younger and hold at least a Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Nigerian or foreign university.
Candidates must also have:
- Completed the National Youth Service Corps programme.
- No more than two years of professional experience after NYSC.
- The academic qualifications required by the programme.
Applications for the second cohort are scheduled to close on September 4, 2026.
More than just a graduate job
The initiative is positioned as more than a conventional entry-level recruitment exercise.
Through Heirs Academy, participants undergo structured foundational learning while gaining practical exposure to different business sectors. The programme is designed to develop business acumen, technical capabilities and the professional discipline needed to operate in demanding corporate environments.
Heirs Holdings Group Director of Human Resources, Eluemuno Olumagin, described talent development as a long-term investment in Africa’s economic transformation.
The organisation says its approach is focused on identifying high-potential young professionals and equipping them with skills, an enterprise mindset and sector knowledge that can support long-term careers.
First cohort produced 54 graduates
The new recruitment drive follows the completion of the programme’s inaugural cohort.
Heirs Holdings said 54 trainees completed six months of structured learning and professional development during the first edition.
Following graduation, participants moved into careers across Heirs Holdings and its portfolio companies, applying the experience gained through the academy in their respective roles.
The company is now seeking another group of young professionals to join the next phase of the programme.
A major opportunity for early-career professionals
For graduates navigating Nigeria’s competitive job market, the programme could provide an opportunity to gain corporate experience while developing skills across industries that play important roles in the Nigerian economy.
The combination of classroom-style learning, practical exposure and access to a diversified business environment could also give successful trainees a broader understanding of how large organisations operate.
With applications closing on September 4, eligible graduates who have completed NYSC and meet the age, academic and experience requirements have a limited window to submit their applications.
For young professionals looking for a route into Nigeria’s corporate sector, the second Heirs Academy graduate trainee cohort could prove to be a career opportunity worth watching.
