Anchor Insurance Company Limited has introduced an enhanced third-party motor insurance product and a new mobile application aimed at widening access to insurance and making policy management more convenient for customers.
The company unveiled the initiatives at a media event in Lagos on Monday, with its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ebose Augustine Osegha, saying the new offerings were designed to respond to changing consumer needs.
According to Osegha, the enhanced motor policy is positioned between conventional third-party cover and comprehensive insurance, providing motorists with additional protection without the higher cost typically associated with comprehensive policies.
He said the product was particularly suited to individuals, families, institutions and small businesses seeking broader motor protection at an affordable price.
Osegha encouraged motorists, fleet operators, transport companies and corporate organisations to consider insurance as more than a statutory obligation, describing it as an important component of financial protection and responsible vehicle ownership.
The insurer’s digital offering, the Anchor Insurance App, is also expected to simplify how customers interact with the company.
The application brings policy and claims management together on a single platform. Customers can use it to purchase eligible insurance products, make payments through available digital channels and receive policy documents electronically.
Existing policyholders can also view their insurance information, update personal details, make payments and receive notifications when their policies are due for renewal.
The claims component allows users to initiate claims, submit relevant supporting documents and track the progress of their claims through the various stages of processing.
The platform also features a dedicated module for insurance brokers, enabling them to manage multiple clients, access policy information and support claims-related activities.
Osegha said improving visibility throughout the claims process was particularly important because the way insurers handle claims is a major measure of their commitment to policyholders.
He added that the new initiatives formed part of Anchor Insurance’s broader effort to use technology to make insurance products easier to understand, obtain and manage.
The chief executive urged current customers and other Nigerians to download the application through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
He said the growing use of smartphones for financial and other essential services had created an expectation for faster and more convenient digital services, adding that the insurance industry needed to adapt accordingly.
Osegha assured customers that Anchor Insurance would continue to invest in technology, personnel and operational processes as it works to deliver simpler and faster insurance services.
