The 2026 Annual Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ Nite will hold on November 6 at the Stable Event Centre, Surulere, Lagos, with organisers set to recognise individuals and organisations contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s insurance sector.
The event, organised by Almond Productions Limited, has been held annually since 2018 to celebrate professionals across different segments of the industry, as well as companies and institutions driving innovation and improving service delivery.
According to the organisers, the awards recognise insurance practitioners who promote and sell insurance products despite the challenges facing the sector, alongside organisations delivering value to consumers and advancing industry development.
The Chief Executive Officer of Almond Productions Limited, Faith Ugwuode, acknowledged that insurance awareness and penetration remain low in Nigeria but said industry players were making efforts to improve public understanding and uptake of insurance products.
She noted that offerings such as health insurance, life insurance, agricultural insurance, annuities and general insurance could help more Nigerians appreciate the benefits of insurance and access financial protection.
As part of its tradition of honouring influential figures in the industry, the organisers will present the 2026 Insurance Life Achievers Award to Opeoluwa Emmanuel Oredugba in recognition of his more than four decades of contributions to the insurance sector.
The awards and Consumers’ Nite serve as a platform to celebrate industry achievements, promote public awareness and encourage greater participation in Nigeria’s insurance market.
