Linkage Assurance Plc recorded a 31 per cent increase in profit after tax to N4.09bn for the nine months ended September 2026, supported by improved investment and other income.
The insurer’s unaudited financial results filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited showed that profit after tax rose from N3.12bn in the corresponding period of 2025 to N4.09bn.
Profit before tax also increased by 29 per cent, from N3.34bn to N4.32bn.
The growth was largely driven by investment and other income, which climbed by 27 per cent to N7.71bn from N6.05bn recorded a year earlier.
The improved income helped offset higher claims and other insurance-related expenses during the period.
Insurance revenue grew by six per cent to N20.55bn, compared with N19.30bn in the corresponding period of 2025, reflecting an expansion in the company’s insurance business.
The company paid gross claims of N5.59bn during the nine-month period, up from N4.02bn a year earlier.
Its balance sheet also strengthened, with total assets rising by 31 per cent to N100.83bn as of September 30, 2026, compared with N76.90bn at the end of December 2025.
Insurer targets profitable growth, digital expansion
Commenting on the company’s outlook, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Braie, said Linkage Assurance’s 2026 strategy focused on consolidating its operations through business growth, operational and financial excellence, as well as customer and workforce development.
He said the company would seek to increase its market share in profitable business segments while improving customer experience in an increasingly competitive insurance market.
Braie identified technology and digital transformation as important drivers of the strategy, particularly in developing and improving products and services for direct and personal insurance customers.
He added that the company planned to provide customers with different motor insurance options tailored to their risk profiles and financial capacity.
The insurer also intends to sustain its brand awareness and customer-value initiatives as it pursues its growth objectives.
Linkage Assurance’s performance comes as Nigeria’s insurance industry adjusts to a new operating environment following the recapitalisation exercise, which has raised expectations for stronger underwriting capacity, improved claims settlement and more sustainable growth across the sector.
